The Estes Park Trail-Gazette reports its owner is selling its offices and warehouse, but the newspaper isn’t packing up.

Newspaper owner Prairie Mountain Publishing Inc. sold the building at 251 Moraine Ave. for $450,000, but the deal includes a lease-back option. The Trail-Gazette can remain in its current location for at least 18 months after the deal closes.

The buyer is Versus Commercial Inc. of Estes Park, which said it’s acquiring the building as an investment. The newspaper owner said selling the building “allows us to focus more on meeting the needs of our advertisers and readers, rather than managing the facility.”
The Trail-Gazette was formed in 1971 from the merger of the Estes Park Trail and the Mountain Gazette. The Estes Park Trail published its first issue in 1921.
